One recipe for him, one for her — both rendered the slow way from grass-fed suet, in small batches, by hand. Nothing added that doesn’t belong on skin.

Mills River is our neighbor to the west — river-bottom farmland where the forks of the Mills River meet. We render grass-fed tallow a few minutes away in Fletcher.
Mills River is farm country and always has been: cattle, trout streams, and the big brewery that chose the valley for its clean water. It's fitting ground for a grass-fed product — this is where the pasture is. About as short a trip as our jars ever take.
Because it’s a whole rendered fat and not a water-based lotion, there’s no water phase to hold together — so no emulsifiers and no preservative system. A short ingredient list by nature.
You won’t find us on a shelf in Mills River — every jar comes straight from our kitchen in Fletcher, North Carolina to your door. No middleman, no store markup. The first batch is rendering now, and the waitlist gets it first.

Yes. We ship grass-fed tallow balm to Mills River, North Carolina and across the United States. Every jar is rendered and jarred by hand in Fletcher, North Carolina.
It's our own climate — humid mountain summers, dry crisp winters, drying elevation — and we render specifically for it. Patch-test to start, as with anything.
Tallow is rendered beef fat. Its fatty-acid profile — mostly oleic, stearic, and palmitic — is close to the oils skin makes on its own, so it absorbs rather than sitting on top. Grass-fed tallow also carries the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K.
Most lotions are mostly water, held together with emulsifiers and preserved to stay shelf-stable. A tallow balm skips the water entirely — just rendered grass-fed fat, whipped soft — so a little goes further and the ingredient list stays short.
Both use the same grass-fed tallow base. His is heavier and barely scented; Hers is whipped lighter and softened with a little honey.
No. Rendered low and slow and washed clean, tallow is close to scentless. His is left barely scented; Hers is softened with a little honey.
